Seaside Shell Necklace for the Summer

MATERIAL LIST

  • Crystal Brandy, Topaz, and Crystal Chili Pepper Swarovski bicone 6mm – 14
  • Dorado crystal Swarovski bicone 4mm – 10
  • 16” strand of 14mm disc shells
  • Size 8 Silk cord, brown
  • Lobster clasp with ring
  • Swarovski Crystal brandy Shell pendant
  • Swarovski Crystal brandy Starfish pendant
  • Two crimp covers

TOOL LIST

  • Split ring tool
  • Bend nose tweezers

Longest Strand

  1. Determine the finished length you want for your necklace
  2. Layout the order of shells and crystals you prefer
  3. Begin with the clasp side on the necklace
  4. Using a silk cord, tie a square knot to your lobster clasp at one end
  5. Determine the spacing of your knot for the first crystal (I used approximately ¼” between the first crystal and the knot at the clasp)
  6. Create a knot, slide on a crystal, and then knot again. (Knot up against the crystal)
  7. Repeat this two more times
  8. Space and knot again
  9. Slide on your first shell, knot
  10. Follow pattern of shell and then crystal for four times
  11. Know you will knot three shells in a row
  12. Knot a crystal and then a crystal up next to the first crystal
  13. Slide on the pendant
  14. Knot on the other side of the pendant
  15. Reverse the pattern from 12 to 7
  16. Square knot to the ring at the end of the necklace

Shorter Strand

  1. Using a silk cord, tie a square knot to the lobster clasp at one end
  2. Tie a crystal next to the clasp knot. Knot on the other side of the same crystal.
  3. Space ¼” to next knot
  4. Add shell and knot
  5. Space 1” knot
  6. Add crystal and knot
  7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for five times
  8. Space 1’ and knot add a crystal knot
  9. Slide on pendant
  10. Tie a double knot at the top of the pendant
  11. Slide on a crystal and knot
  12. Repeat steps 3 thru 8
  13. Tie square knot to the ring at the end of the necklace
