Scrapbooking Tags on your Printer

Expert Tips from Scrapbooker Heidi Swapp

Believe it or not, one of the most versatile and useful tools you can have in your scrapbooking arsenal is your printer. Virtually anything you can run through your printer can be turned into a stylish embellishment, with very little effort, for any project you might be working on. Print your journaling or favorite quote on a tag, make a title or monogram with your favorite font on a journaling spot, the possibilities are endless!

Step by Step Instructions:

1. Start by opening a word document. Insert a text box, typing your text and formatting it the way you want it to look in your finished sample.

2. Print a test page on an 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper.

3. Next, using removable adhesive (for this sample I used Herma-dots), adhere the tag/journaling spot directly on top of the text that was printed on your 8 ½ x 11 sheet. Once you have ensured the placement is where it should be, run your page through your printer again.

Tips for Success:

1. Make sure you are using a removable adhesive. Permanent adhesives will tear your embellishment when removing it from the printer page.

2. Fonts are a fun way to change the look and feel of a project. Try playing with the point size and layering of text for a different look. Some great sites to shop for and download fonts from:
