 The Last Night of Ballyhoo presented by Arizona Jewish Theatre Company – It's December of 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia. Gone with the Wind is having its world premier, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jewish are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. Meet the Freitag family: bachelor Adolph, his widowed sister Boo Levy and their widowed sister-in-law Reba. Boo's daughter needs a date for the dance; Adolph brings home his new employee Joe Farkas; but is a Brooklyn-born Jew of Eastern European heritage of equal status to the Freitags? La Cage Aux Follies presented by North Valley Playhouse – Albin and Georges' are popular female impersonators starring in the drag queen show Les Cagelles. Problems arise when Georges' twenty-five year old son, Jean-Michel, a result from a brief encounter years back, announces that he is engaged to Anne Dindon, the daughter of a well known politician, Eduard Dindon. Anne's parents want to come and meet Jean-Michel's mother and father. Little do they know that Albin, a man, has essentially been Jean-Michel's mother figure his whole life.  Ainadamar presented by The Phoenix Symphony – Ainadamar tells the story of martyred Spanish playwright Federico Garcia Lorca and his actress muse Margarita Xirgu during the Fascist regime. With arias of languid beauty and melodies that shiver with sensual intervals, the sun-drenched nostalgia and soul of Spain come to life in exuberant outbursts of rhythm and orchestral color.
