Halloween Wine Party
Josh & Mark’s Party – BlindWine Tasting Game
It works like this - As the party host, you determine the type of wine your guests should bring by indicating the region, year and price range on your customized BlindWine™ invitations. Once your guests arrive, cover each wine bottle in a BlindWine™ bag. Now it's time to play. Your guests will taste and score the wines using a very easy-to-follow BlindWine™ scorecard. This is a great way to learn more about wine.
Once all of the scores are in and the lowest-rated and highest-rated wines have been determined, you get to present the winner with the acclaimed gold medal. Do I hear rematch? Before the evening is over, your friends will already be planning their own BlindWine™ party. And to keep with the “theme” of Halloween here are some great wines:
Vampire Vineyards – Vampire Pinot Noir – Transylvanian Grapes!
Yes you read right, the grapes come directly from the vines in Transylvania, perfect for a Halloween party! This wine has been made for early drinking with young fruit flavors with an integrated distinctively different oak flavor. Vampire Pinot Noir is well suited to Venison and game dishes, and is equally well adapted to pasta dishes featuring basil and tomato sauces. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif or as an after dinner wine with snacks and blue cheeses.
Vampire Vineyards - Vampire Blood Red Cabernet Sauvignon – Paso Robles, California
Delicious Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon that is judiciously blended with small amounts of Merlot for softness, and Syrah for added structure, our Cabernet displays ripe flavor character and a lovely aroma that will continue to develop with additional time in bottle. Ideal for grilled steaks and chops, or with rich red pasta dishes, our Cabernet Sauvignon is well-suited for the table, and is a wonderful complement to any fine meal.
Also look for Vampire Pinot Grigio & Vampire Chardonnay
Via Vega – October Series Blend – Paso Robles, California
The 2004 October Series is a blend made in a festive style, yet shows some strength. The varietal make up is 46% Mouvedre, 42% Touriga Nacional, and 12% Souzao. The latter two are Portuguese Port varieties that we made into table wine. These varieties are unique and delicious and along with Mouvedre, show a specialty expression in a red table wine blend. It’s a very unique blend that most wine drinkers have never had, which creates a very fun and educational wine party!
Cheers,
Jill
