If decanter, Pinot Noir and Ports are foreign words to you, then Wine 101 is for you! Jill Stacey from Winestyles in Peoria will teach us all about wine. We asked Jill to tell us about herself and her new store.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a Proprietor of WineStyles in Peoria, Arizona. I'm married and have three girls.
How did you get started in this business and why?
After looking at several different business and franchises and with our love of wine we thought WineStyles was a perfect fit. I have always gone to the stores, stared at the labels and never knew what to buy; I was also embarrassed to ask "dumb questions". WineStyles takes the guess work out of wine buying. The different "styles" identify the specific flavors, body and essence of the wine. For instance if you enjoy a "crisp" Pinot Grigo you might discover you like a "crisp" Sauvignon Blanc or "crisp" Riesling. This allows you to try many wines from different regions without getting too far from the taste category you like. And 98% of our wines are under $25.00!
What are you best known for?
Customer Service! At WineStyles you won't be confused, embarrassed or snubbed. We have a reward program that is centered around the customer. Each registered customer has a journal to record the wines they buy right in our computer. Forgotten a name, just ask we will find it for you. Need a special order, or have a special event no problem we can help. Food pairing for an important party? Just come in sit down and let's work it out.
What differentiates you from other wine stores?
From the novice wine drinker to the experienced connoisseur, WineStyles appeals to them all. Good quality wines separated by "style" and combined with food pairing information makes the selection process more relaxed and easy.
We have a wine club that can be customized for the members.
We also offer onsite & off site wine education programs, bar services and tasting parties.
 What is your hottest selling or newest wine?
Flying Fish Merlot from Washington State – incredible flavor, mellow, soft & supple. Perfect with steak, salmon or pork. Great quality for less than $15.00.
What else should our members know about you?
Wine tastings are complimentary on Fridays 5pm – 7:30pm and Saturday 1pm – 7pm.
Remember no question is "dumb or silly" just ask! Wine was not created to be complicated – it is meant to be enjoyed!
