Trick-Free Treats for Halloween
From Registered Dietician Michelle Gorman
Halloween treats don’t have to be “junk” food. Try some of these nutritious or non-food treats for your neighborhood goblins:
- Small boxes of raisins (individually wrapped)
- Granola bars or cereal bars
- Small bags of peanuts or sunflower seeds (NOT for kids under 4 years old due to risk of choking)
- Individual juice cans or boxes (look for 100% juice)
- Small packages of pretzels or popcorn
- Sugarless gum
- Pencils, crayons
- Stickers
- Pennies, nickels
- Comic or coloring books
- Carnival type prizes, toys, bubbles, silly putty
- Baseball cards, Pokemon cards, etc.
- Toothbrushes!
