Allergic to Testosterone Medication
Q & A with Women's Health Hero, Dr. Tutera
Dear Dr. Tutera,
If I am allergic to Testosterone will your therapy help me? I don't have even 1% of the Testosterone I am supposed to have. This has my OB/Gyn perplexed. She tried Testosterone Medication but was found to be allergic to it. Other than having no sex drive, I don't seem to have any other problems, however my husband feels that years is a long time to go between having sex.
Dear Allergic,
You may not be allergic to testosterone, but the ingredients in the cream or shots other than testosterone. Low sex drive certainly is a sign of low testosterone, but also faltering memory, fuzzy thinking, poor mental focus, muscle loss, low energy, easy fatigability, poor exercise tolerance and slow recovery from exercise occur with low testosterone.
