Q and A with Marty Hames

We've started a Get Healthy Club on our message boards with 3TV's Marty Hames dropping in to join the conversations.  Here's what one member wrote:

"I try to eat healthy, but after a week of oatmeal, veggies, and chicken I get bored with the same foods!! I've decided I need to know what the food I eat is doing to my insides so I'll think twice when I reach for that cookie (and the second one... and the third...). Is there a good book to read or class to take for people who really love all things fattening and are healthy food novices, but want to change?"

Dear Sweet Connection Member,
Great question! I have just the book you appear to be looking for. It's called YOU: The Owner's Manual: An Insider's Guide to the Body that Will Make You Healthier and Younger. It's written by Michael F. Roizen, Mehmet Oz. Both are frequent guests on the Oprah Winfrey show and they actually explain what certain foods, whether they're healthy or otherwise, do to the insides of our bodies. It gives me the motivation I need to eat a healthy diet, or maybe use moderation with less healthy foods. You say you are getting a little tired of the oatmeal, but perhaps knowing what benefit you are doing to your body by eating that oatmeal may make you think twice about its dull presentation on the table.

Good Luck!
Marty
