Karve yourself a new body
Karve is one of the country’s most unique and effective workouts that has been shaping women’s bodies for almost 50 years. Stemming from the original exercise regime “The Lotte Berk Method”, Karve is based off of the same workout that was created by a retired German dancer in the 1950s. She worked with her physical therapist to create a workout that would help her maintain her beautiful dancer’s figure without risking injury to her back or joints. The women she taught were able to maintain lean, beautiful figures, healthy flexibility, and increased stamina.
Karve starts out with a non-impact warm up in the center of a carpeted room, then moves to the floor for various upper body and abdominal strengthening movements. The class then incorporates ballet bars to create long lean strong muscles in the thighs and seat. The class ends underneath the bar for more focused abdominal work and stretching using the bar as leverage.
The Karve technique is systematically timed and sequenced to burn fat and develop the poise and look of a dancer. Every single body part that women are concerned with is targeted in this invigorating, fun and challenging one-hour class. Results from consistent practice are beautiful shapely shoulders and arms, a smaller trim waist, firm leaner thighs, and a nice high rear end!
Kendra Jordan, the owner of k Pilates and Karve studio brought Karve to the Phoenix area after trying a similar class in San Francisco. Like most first-timers, Kendra was hooked after just one class. After returning to Arizona, Kendra realized that there were no studios in the state that resembled this incredible method, so she returned to San Francisco for an intensive training program with Jill Dailey, a former Lotte Berk instructor.
Kendra holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, a Master’s in Sport and Fitness Management, and is a Pilates Gold Certified member of the Pilates method alliance. In Kendra’s 10 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, she has never seen such positive results from any exercise regime like she has with Karve.
Currently Karve is offered exclusively at k Pilates. More information about class pricing and schedule can be found at www.kpilates.com, or by calling the studio at (480) 840-1860.
