Here at Sweet Connection, we're searching the valley for exercise options. This week, we connected with Reza Karamooz, owner of REZA Fitness Resort

We asked Reza to tell us about himself.
I am an engineer and designer by classical college education. I'm also an Advanced Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor and cycling racing trainer. I enjoy my Yoga and Pilates practice at REZA Resort and my salsa dance workshop is proving to be way more fun than I had anticipated.

Tell us about spinning.
Spinning is simply indoor cycling on specifically designed bikes. Unfortunately most spin instructors are not cyclists. Due the lack of actual outdoor cycling experience and training, most instructors make students do motions and movements that are unsafe and techniques that have nothing to do with cycling. At REZA Resort, we are all experienced riders and certified to teach indoor cycling by the LeMond Academy. We take spinning seriously.

I started this business because I could not find a place that provided great classes or workshops for Spinning in an all inclusive, resort style, world-class studio. We cater to woman of all ages and fitness levels. We have many beginners and welcome new members. Our Spinning program is conducted in our state-of-the-art cycling studio with small class sizes so that each individual will get proper attention from our highly skilled and certified instructors.

What kind of workout does it provide?
Spinning provides a great cardio workout. The spinning classes are also a fantastic way to tone leg and butt muscles.

Do you offer classes? What are the costs?
We have classes 7 days a week starting early in the morning and going late into the evening. Our classes can be purchased in groups of 20, 50 or 100 or as unlimited monthly passes. Class can range anywhere from a low of $6 each to $20 if purchased individually.

We are the first studio in Arizona to use the Lemond RevMaster equipped with the Pilot heart-rate and cadence monitor. These are the best quality indoor cycling bikes in the marketplace. They are fully adjustable and provide a great indoor training experience to the novice or the racer. At REZA Resort all amenities such as water bottles, hot tea, towels, yoga / pilates mats, use of showers, and lockers are also included, free of charge.

Who can participate in spinning?
We have woman in their late teens all the way to women in their late 60s participate in our programs. For the most part just about anyone can participate at any fitness level.

What is the most fun thing about this type of exercise?
The most fun thing about our Spinning classes are the awesome sound system and the great music that each instructor uses.

What do you do to reward yourself after a great workout?
Eat Gelato!
