Just Friends, or more?

By Relationship Barista Lissa Coffey

just friends

Becky from Globe asked:

Can two people of the opposite sex be just friends?

In a word: yes!  Some of my very best friends are male.

Hi Lissa,

I'm a newlywed and just recently had my first child. Obviously I feel very insecure and I didn't feel any better when I noticed my husband called an old female friend on Valentine's Day.  It came upon me accidentally. I haven't mentioned anything cuz I don't want him to think I don't trust him but on the other hand it keeps bothering me and stays on my mind. Should I confront him about it or just ignore it?

Talk to him. You don't have to "confront" him - just have a conversation. No accusations - just ask him about it. When you're married you've got to be comfortable enough with each other to talk like this. You'll drive yourself crazy imagining the worst unless you get it all out in the open and clear the air. You are vulnerable right now with your hormones all over the place after the baby - make sure you talk with your doctor about how you're feeling.
