Where are the Men?
By Relationship Barista Lissa Coffey
A member in Surprise is searching for a date.
Dear Lissa,
I live in Surprise. I have been here for two years, in that time not one man has asked me out or shown any interest. I have been told I'm nice looking. I don't understand. My church is full of seniors, and I don't go to bars. What can I do?
Dear Searching,
Go where the men go. Gyms, sporting events, bookstores, coffee shops. Join a club, get active in the political scene, get involved with an environmental group - there are people everywhere! And you don't have to wait for men to ask you, go ahead and ask them! So many men find it refreshing and flattering to be asked out.
You could also try finding men who share your interests online. It's a lot easier than you'd think - and there is a lot more variety online than you'd think. You can really be picky because there are so many men to choose from!
And while you're at church, find out if any of those seniors have sons who are available. The way to meet men is by meeting people - everyone knows someone and you never know where it will lead you.
Good Luck!
Lissa
