About the Reviewers:
Katie Gardiner is a Junior at ASU majoring in Journalism/Mass Communications. She went to the movie with her friend Jarid Mundall, who is a Sophomore majoring in Computer Information Sciences.
Here's what Katie had to say about the Movie:
This movie made me feel enlightened.
The stars' chemistry was genuine.
What I liked best about the movie was the realistic way it portrayed the time period.
I'd recommend this movie to a friend because it makes you feel fortunate for the increasing tolerance of our time and it inspires you to be a part of that change. But on the negative side, it tells a story of forbidden love that might not have a happy ending.
What stuck with me after I saw this movie was the symbolism of their shirts at the end of the film.
As my friend and I left the theater, we talked about the sympathy we have for people that differ from society's norm and especially for those that try to conceal it. I'd go see this movie again because it made me see that love has no boundaries and can break any barriers- unless you won't let it.
This movie made me think about current issues dealing with homosexuality.
This is a great date movie because you can find out how sensitive your date is to topics addressed in the film. But, it also has the potential to make some men uncomfortable.
If I were the Director, I would change the state of Jack's room at the end of the movie.
