L'Amore Ristorante

michelle and john

by Member Michelle and her husband John

The Reviewers: Member Michelle and her husband John
The Restaurant: L'Amore Ristorante
Type of food: Italian

Tell us about the restaurant:
This is my pick for a great, reasonably priced romantic celebratory meal or place to take out of state guests. Menu has great selection of pasta, seafood, beef, chicken, veal, and many specials – everyone can find something that they like. Prices are very reasonable, atmosphere is classy but dress is casual.

Save room for dessert! I regret not having room for the chocolate cream brulee that looked wonderful or sharing the Cannoli my husband tried.

This restaurant is a must try!

What did you order?

Appetizer: Shrimp Cocktail

Main Course:

Michelle had: Risotto L'Amore (Italian Arborio rice with shrimp, sea scallops, crab meat, mussels, clams, asparagus, roasted bell peppers & peas in a saffron, lobster bisque-flavored sauce) – "to die for!"

John had: Linguine with fresh Clams (garlic & white wine sauce)

Dessert: Cannoli

How much was the total bill?
$93.00 for two dinners, appetizer, and dessert, plus drinks. It would have been less if I didn’t have 2 drinks (cosmo and nuts and berries) – but celebrating passing my Real Estate brokers test earlier that day)

What was the atmosphere/scene like?
Very elegant, but casual. Love that when you walk in there is a lovely photo of Heather Moore and Olivia Ferro of Channel 3, hanging on the wall with the chef!! Right there, you know it is going to be a good place.

How was the service?
Excellent! Staff is very attentive. Manager even circles the dining room checking on guests.

What else do we need to know about this place?
Make a reservation!! – the dining room is small and the place is pretty busy, even during the week. There is a bar area, but that is usually full also.

Great location – easy to get to off the 51 freeway. Worth the drive!
