How did you get started?
Photography has always had a place in my life but becoming a mother awakened my desire to document my children's life not through stiff poses and forced smiles but through a mother’s loving eyes. I began to record my own children's genuine spirit and it was not long before others took notice. After receiving many compliments about my work and requests for portraits Michelle Morales Photography was born.
What makes your photography unique?
I specialize in contemporary lifestyle portraits of maternity, newborns, babies, children, high school seniors and families. I work exclusively on-location and with natural light. I am not a photographer for everyone. I am not a traditional posed, say cheese and props photographer. I am artist with a heart and a vision to capture children creatively, capture their spirit which cannot be contained on a backdrop or bound by studio walls. My style is fun, fresh and artistic. I love to capture children being children. I do not want them to perform in front of the camera but instead strive to capture the magic and wonder of their world. I want to record forever this brief innocent and magnificent period of time called "childhood".
I enjoy photographing children and their families in every stage of life. They reflect love, anticipation, devotion, silliness, stubbornness, attitudes, pouts, giggles, laughter and everything else that makes life real.
What are your best selling items?
One of my most popular sessions I offer is my With Child Session in which clients get to capture the radiance of their pregnancy and wonder of their tiny newborn. Both sessions are held in the convenience and comfort of clients own home and they also receive either their choice of 25 4x6's of the same image or one high resolution digital file to be used for their baby’s birth announcements.
What else would you like to share with our SC members?
I am very grateful I have been able to turn my passion of photographing children and their families into a successful career. My images have been described as "fun and artistic" with a touch of "editorial flair". Also, I book far in advance, so if they hope to book a session it is best to schedule as soon as possible to ensure their desired date is available.
