Bijou is an upscale boutique in Scottsdale Arizona carrying high end men’s & women’s clothing, shoes & accessories. Bijou (meaning ‘jewel’ in French) prides itself on offering rare, hard-to-find labels from around the world. A large majority of the brands carried at Bijou are not found anywhere else in Arizona, and a small handful are not currently sold in the rest of the country (such as Vidler & Nixon, a mens/womens line recently launched out of the U.K.) Bijou offers a lot of newly launched labels as well, such as Miss Davenporte, Crispin & Basilio, & Heidi Merrick. Quite a few of the designs come from New York & L.A., but the boutique also has a wide range of international designers out of France, Denmark, the U.K., Thailand & Brazil. The owner of Bijou, Melissa Kingston, has worked in the retail industry for 10 years, and has spent a lot of time living overseas, learning about the fashion market around the world. Bijou is located at the Borgata, next door to Tankeko Tavern, located on Scottsdale Road, just north of McDonald.
Why is your boutique unique?
The thing that makes us most unique from our competitors is that the majority of the brands that we carry are not in the state of Arizona, and a handful are not anywhere else in the U.S. We carry labels from all over the world, including the U.K. Europe, Canada, Brazil & Thailand.
What are your best selling items?
We have some great items in the store at the minute. The ones that come immediately to mind are; Miss Davenports, a brand new launch label for Fall designed by two stylists from L.A., Heidi Merrick a brand new very sophisticated line launch for Holiday, & Juliana Jabour, a very talented designer from Brazil who does clothing, shoes & accessories.
