Designs 4 Change

Artist Jessica Sherman donates 10% of the proceeds from her jewelry designs to The American Cancer Society.  We asked Jessica to tell us about her work.

My newest items that I have been creating are enameled. I have been taking enameling classes through my city to learn this new technique to use in my jewelry design.

My best selling items have been my earrings that are called Mary Ann. Those earrings were designed with my godmother in mind, who helped inspire my business venture. She recently passed of brain cancer. Even in her days when she wasn't feeling good, she wanted to change the world for the better and make sure everyone was taken care of.

I have also done quite well with my earrings called Santorini. Many of my designs are created with Swarovski Crystals, however all of them use high quality Sterling Silver for the ear hooks.

I also offer custom orders for special events. I enjoy creating something new with my clients that is especially unique and to their tastes.

Tell us about yourself.
My name is Jessica Sherman. I am an artist/jewelry designer, full time student, and I also work a full time day job helping others to create change in their lives.

I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Business and Marketing from The University of Phoenix and have plans to continue my education to obtain my M.B.A.

I am a strong advocate for Cancer Awareness in my community and feel that the more people know, the more they can achieve.

How did you get started?
I have always been an artistic person and enjoy making gifts for family and friends.

My godmother Mary was a very influential person in my life. She recently passed of brain cancer. She loved people for who they were and wanted to cure the world of cancer and world hunger. As you can probably tell, her chosen profession was a social worker.

I decided after her passing to take my talents and her teachings global and create Designs 4 Change to help create some positive change in the world. I really have a strong passion for helping people and making all of us smile, even if it's just for a little bit.

What makes your business unique?
I donate 10% of my proceeds to The American Cancer Society so that we can hopefully one day find a cure for all.
